1. Different detection items
The UL60950 is a safety standard for information technology products. The UL1310 is a safety standard for power supply devices.
2. Different voltage conditions
UL 1310 class 2 power supply 120vac 60hz standard specifies the output voltage under any load conditions the maximum output voltage of the power supply exposed contact voltage peak 42.4V.
The UL60950 defines the output voltage between any two reachable circuit parts, or between any reachable circuit part and the protective ground terminal of class I equipment, under normal conditions, not to exceed the 42.4V ac peak value, or 60V dc value.
3. Different application conditions
UL1310 certification is only suitable for 120 or 240Vac calibration voltage CLASSII power supply equipment in the grid; UL60950 is suitable for information technology products with rated input voltage not exceeding 600Vac. UL60950 can only be used for driving power supply of 277V UL certified LED lighting products.
Additional information:
RTL certification (such as UL certification, MET certification, CSA certification, etc.) is a non-mandatory certification in the United States, mainly testing and certification of product safety performance, the scope of certification does not include product EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) characteristics. In the NRTL certification of LED lighting products, it is important that the driving power supply of LED also needs to have the certification test of relevant standards.
UL1310 is the CLASSII (Power supply with limited voltage and capacity) safety standard for power equipment. The UL1310 certified power supply is the CLASSII power supply. When using the CLASSII power supply to do cUL (Canadian market) LED lighting fixture certification, the relevant safety test can be exempted.
UL60950 is a safety standard for information technology (REFERRED to as IT) equipment, and its applicable certification scope is larger than UL1310. However, when using UL60950 certified power supply to do cUL (Canadian Market certification) LED lighting lamp certification, the relevant safety test cannot be exempted.
